Event: Launch of the Green Quarter vision for Nottingham Broadmarsh
Discover, discuss and contribute to the proposal for a new Green Quarter to replace the bleak, half demolished Broadmarsh shopping centre.
Nottingham Cohousing, Nottingham Good Food Partnership, local residents and a number of local businesses focused on sustainability, are calling for a new Green Quarter for Nottingham which would integrate nature with affordable eco housing, live/work units, A-rated green business premises, new visitor attractions, urban agriculture and healthy places to eat and buy fresh food.
The proposal for the Green Quarter invites residents and leaders to imagine the tired, grey and broken site of an old shopping centre reused and reborn as a global exemplar of urban design, with wellbeing for people, planet and a sustainable, localised economy at its core.
The document to be launched at this event gives a vision for this concept and outlines the mix of uses and activities envisaged for the site and the principles underpinning its design.
Participants will be taken through the proposal by the writers and architectural designers with opportunities for questions, feedback and discussion.
A Zoom link will be sent to the email you use to register shortly before the start of the event. This event is organised by Jeanne Booth from THiNK in NG on behalf of Nottingham Cohousing and Nottingham Good Food Partnership.
